Presenter – Lauren Zimmer, System Program Manager of the Performance Excellence Office, SSM Health  


About the Session: Lauren will give a brief history of Lean in HealthCare and explore some of its components. Key points of the presentation will focus on value added vs. non-value added activities, the Kano Model for customer satisfaction, and 6S. 

About the Presenter: Lauren Zimmer is currently the System Program Manager of the Performance Excellence Office with SSM Health in St. Louis, Missouri. She has previously held positions as a CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) Advisor and Project Manager during her 10 year career with SSM.   During her time in these roles Lauren helped create and deploy a variety of quality and business improvement initiatives and programs. Equally important, she has a broad background in healthcare process optimization, having facilitated project teams focused on strategic initiatives ranging from optimization of patient throughput to improvement in quality outcome measures and patient satisfaction.  Most recently, she served on the core team responsible for leading the business process transformation at SSM Health.  Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Management from the University of Missouri and Master’s in Business Administration from Webster University in St. Louis, MO.  She is also a certified LSSGB.
