About the Session: 

In 2009, SSM Health started their Always Safe, Every Day, Every Way journey, an initiative that aligns with their Mission and Values. A cornerstone of this journey is the establishment of a Just Culture – an atmosphere of trust in which employees feel free to report conditions and errors (even their own) without fear of retaliation upon themselves or their co-workers.

Utilizing Outcome Engenuity’s Just Culture Model, the focus is less on events, errors and outcomes and more on risk, system design and management of behavior. It is this culture that forms a shared accountability for safety and quality.

Pat Campbell is the System Director, Employee Relations and Employee Health at SSM Health. She is responsible for implementing employee relations strategies, goals and activities as well as serving as the system-wide contact for employee relations matters and policy interpretation. Previously she served as the Network Vice President of Human Resources. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri and has her masters in research/nursing.
